A consultancy and engineering practice built on a single conviction: open technology, owned by the client, engineered to be inspected.
Open Digital Consulting Co works from two bases - Stockport in the UK and Boulogne-Billancourt in France - across three connected practices: advisory on open source strategy and governance, business systems engineering, and open source software development.
The practices reinforce each other deliberately. The advisory work is grounded in the experience of actually implementing systems and shipping software; the business systems work carries the governance discipline of the policy world; the software practice proves both in public, releasable code.
The people
The practice is led by Stuart Mackintosh, drawing on some thirty years of open source delivery - from NHS open source finance systems to open source foundation governance. He is President of The Perl and Raku Foundation, serves on the Odoo Community Association's Governance Working Group, and was named Open Source Leader of the Year in the 2019 Information Age Tech Leaders Awards.
The practice is kept deliberately small; engagements are delivered by the people you meet. Partner specialists join where an engagement needs them.
